I am often asked the question what it might look like if a local government really took Transition by the horns, initiated it, and acted as the catalyst for the community to start a meaningful and impactful Transition process.
Beliefs matter. So do stories. My inspiration often comes from the written word, and I’ve long been interested in writers who revel in the complexity of beliefs, understand how adept humans are at self-deception, but nevertheless provide a useful roadmap.
A project of Transition US, the Transition Streets program provides local groups across the country with tools for implementing powerful, grassroots transformation on a neighborhood level.
The outcomes of our work are uncertain, but the way we approach Transition in each moment will contribute to the quality and nature of the outcomes.
What is Fairness? Could we agree on a definition? And is it something that’s learnt or instinctive?
Academic work on Transition can often be infuriating rather than illuminating.
